School leavers at Atlas Copco IAS –
the start to your working life!
Study course at the dual university
Bachelor of Science, Information Technology Program
Information scientists transfer processes from the real world to computer systems by creating models of processes and mapping them to hardware or software. Information technology creates new approaches as well as new thought processes and enables multi-media communication anywhere, at any time and immediately. In total information technology monitors, controls and networks processes.
A three month theory block at the "Duale Hochschule Karlsruhe" alternates with a three month practical block at Atlas Copco IAS in Bretten. Firstly the course teaches basics in the field information technology and programming. Then subject areas such as software engineering, web engineering, databases and communication and network technology are on the timetable.
After this you will get to know all technical and administrative departments. This gives you an early introduction to the culture, organization and internal processes at Atlas Copco IAS. Your colleagues will give you the opportunity to independently work on projects. The aim is to find out in which department you could imagine working in after your studies. This is the field in which you will concentrate during the main part of your course.
