Study course at the dual university
Bachelor of Science, Business Informatics Program
Business information scientists apply methods from information technology to current economic topics. They analyse and optimise business processes, design the communication and information systems in companies and manage projects. Business information scientists are seen as interface between the IT specialist and user. They require a sound knowledge of information technology and business administration.
A three month theory block at the "Duale Hochschule Karlsruhe" alternates with a three month practical block at Atlas Copco IAS in Bretten.
The course consists of three modules:
Methods in Business Informatics (business processes and project management)
Business Administration (management, controlling, accounting, corporate management)
Informatics (IT concepts, software engineering, databases, development of apps)
After this you will get to know all technical and administrative departments. This gives you an early introduction to the culture, organization and internal processes at Atlas Copco IAS. Your colleagues will give you the opportunity to independently work on projects. The aim is to find out in which department you could imagine working in after your studies. This is the field in which you will concentrate during the main part of your course.
